Two Performances. March 5th and Mar 9th, 2008. Karen Peterson and Dancers presents two special performances this March. Seventy-five students bring their own special abilities together in a collaborative, creative dance performance. The first performance will present ESE Dance Students at Biscayne Academy and will be hosted at 2785 NE 183rd Street in Aventura on March 5th at 10:30 a.m. The second one will showcase ESE Dance Students at Excello Dance Space located at 8700 SW 129th Terrace in Miami on March 9th at 2:00 p.m.
Through the power of dance and performance, children with special needs will be better prepared to meet the challenges presented by their disability. Children will develop a new sense of self-esteem, an awareness of their physical and creative selves and more comfort in social engagements with others. Through classroom participation and ensemble performance, dance as a healing tool can assist children with physical, cognitive and learning disabilities. The goals are to motivate students to create and take their work into the community and inspire and show their possibilities through dance.
