From Oct 2010 through Apr 2011.
The Deering Estate at Cutler presents classical chamber music with the 2010-2011 Living Artist Concert Series. The superb natural acoustics of the elegant Stone House Ballroom provide the perfect setting for the concerts performed by the talented Deering Estate Chamber Ensemble and noted guest musicians and composers. The Living Artist Concert Series combines performances with lectures, visual art exhibits and interpretive programs.
The first concert of the season “Unveiling” features works by Spanish and Cuban composers who lived at the turn of the 20th century along with the Brahms Piano Quartet in G minor. The concert will be held on Friday, October 15th. All concerts begin at 7:00 p.m. with a meet-the-artist reception at 6:30 p.m. The richly diverse series of six programs continues through April 2011, and includes works by Liszt, Mozart, Schumann, and contemporary pieces by Resident Composer Judith Shatin.
