From May 8th, 2010. 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
KaBe Contemporary is pleased to present “Words”, the most recent and first Miami solo exhibition by Yucef Merhi. His works deal with the use of language and technology. By means of video-games, web interfaces, slide projectors, floppy disks and other materials, Merhi presents a poetic language that is both, surprising and thoughtful about how language, and language machines inform our lives.
Yucef Merhi started creating art in 1985. His works have been included in venues such as the New Museum of Contemporary Art (New York), Bronx Museum (New York), Orange County Museum of Art (California), De Appel (Amsterdam), Museo Michetti (Rome), and Borusan Culture & Art Center (Istanbul). He also participated in the 2007 Bienal de São Paulo and the 10th Istanbul Biennial.
