Jan 30th through 31st, 2010.
The 36th Annual Miami Beach Festival of the Arts is approaching. First established in 1974, Miami Beach’s oldest art festival is as fresh and laid back as North Beach, the eclectic neighborhood where it takes place. This nationally recognized event brings over 30,000 visitors, both young and old, to North Beach’s picturesque seaside promenade to browse amongst the fine art on exhibit while enjoying an array of performing arts and epicurean offerings.
The event will once again be located on the Ocean Terrace, east of Collins Avenue between 73 and 75 streets and will be free and open to the public. The festival is positioned between the open sea, the commercial district and the open-air bandshell and community center. This signature community event showcases the juried artwork of over 150 unique artists from across the nation, exhibiting paintings, sculpture, glass, ceramics, jewelry and photography.
This year, the festival is proud to present KISS band’s front man Paul Stanley as its 2010 festival poster artist. In addition to his musical endeavors, Stanley has with great success dabbled in the “other” art world. His poster will be auctioned to benefit Arts for Learning’s art programs in Miami Beach schools and parks.
