Luis Nunez. From Nov 14th through Dec 23rd, 2009.
Miami-Dade College will host an exhibition of Florida landscape paintings by the acclaimed South Florida artist Luis Nunez. The exhibit, titled “Celebrating the Florida Landscape” will be presented at “The Library Art Space Gallery” in the Homestead Campus, and will run from November 14th through December 23rd. The exhibit will showcase some of Florida’s most captivating sites as depicted in Nunez’ work.
Nunez oil paintings, representative of the diverse Florida landscape, will display the state’s wilderness – from the lush subtropical south to the sober temperate northern part of this unique and unusually beautiful part of the world.
“I’ve worked hard and I’m excited to unveil some of my new paintings at this show,” said Nunez. “So far, I’m very pleased how it is coming along,” he added. Nunez, who holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Florida International University will also display a few of his older works. “I’ve added a few of my old favorites to complement this exhibition,” he said.
The exhibition will be open during library operating hours, Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Admission to the gallery is free of charge.
