June 2009.
Vladimir Issaev, Artistic Director of Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida continues his energetic journey by taking his troupe to Odense, Denmark, where the company will participate in the V International Dance Festival.
Principal dancers Yoshie Oshima, Miho Yoshioka, Edward Persondek will lead the corps performing Fuga con Pajarillo, a very exciting choreography by Vladimir Issaev with music of Venezuelan composer Aldemaro Romero. The neo-classical piece is powerful and costumes designed by Jorge Gallardo add flavor to the piece.
The V international Dance Festival in Odense, is conducted by Bogusia Gauden, Director of Odense City Ballet and far from being a competitive showcase, it aims to encourage an international cultural exchange among dance groups from different countries. The 2009 Festival will host dancers from Austria, Germany, Poland, Denmark, Mexico and USA. Each company will be able to exchange other disciplines of dance as their director will be giving Master Classes on their methods and dance styles, which include the Vaganova and Bournonville ballet styles, Modern and Character dance. The Festival has also an educational component, as the dancers will perform for the children of the schools of Odense. During these performances the repertoire will include excerpts of the ballet Fairy Doll. The event expects big crowds where these International companies will be exposed of to a wide variety of audiences. June is one of the most beautiful months to be in Denmark and tourists from all over pour the city to attend the different celebrations of the beginning of the summer.
