Sponsored by Goldman Properties From Jan 13th through Jan 31st, 2007Goldman Properties will introduce the work of Chinese photographer Deke Erh in an exhibit entitled East and West: Art Deco Architecture and a Sense of Place in Miami Beach and Shanghai. The exhibit, which features fifty color photographs of both Miami Beach and Shanghai, will open at the newly anointed Goldman Project, 174 NW 23 Street in Wynwood. The opening is scheduled for January 13th, 2007 from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m., to coincide with the Wynwood Gallery Walk and Art Deco Weekend, which runs January 12th -14th, 2007, and has the theme East Meets West: Art Deco from Miami to Shanghai. This exhibition will also be shown in China in the spring of 2007 at the Deke Erh Art Center, a factory that has been converted to a gallery space in an emerging arts district in Shanghai. It is expected that the exhibit will travel throughout China. Erh and Johnston now plan to publish a companion catalogue to the exhibit: Art Deco-Shanghai and Miami Beach.
