December 12th, 2006The Funding Arts Network (FAN) will hold its tenth anniversary celebration lunch at the Biltmore Hotel on December 12th, 2006. The lunch will honor members and grantees over the ten years of its existence. A new grant open to current and former grantees will also be announced. Guest speakers include Edward Villella, Artistic Director of the Miami City Ballet; Rafael de Acha, Founder and Immediate Past Artistic Director of the New Theater; Bonnie Clearwater, Executive Director and Chief Curator of the Museum of Contemporary Art . Presenting by video will be Michael Tilson Thomas, Artistic Director of the New World Symphony. The Funding Arts Network provides member-supported grants to arts non-profit organizations for programs in dance, music, theater and the visual arts in Miami-Dade County. To date, FAN has given approximately $1.8 million in 267 grants to 73 groups. Grantees represent cultural groups like Miami City Ballet, Miami Art Museum, New World Symphony, Miami Light Project, Teatro Avante and the Florida Grand Opera.
