A Midsummer Night's Dream by FIU Theatre

From Jul 27th through Jul 30th, 2006FIU Theatre, in conjunction with the Roxy Performing Arts Group, presents Shakespeare’s comedy, A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Directed by Phillip M. Church, this production features an excellent cast of actors in a fresh interpretation of Shakespeare’s classic. Plagued by unforeseen natural disasters, the world reels in chaotic turmoil. Two pairs of beleaguered lovers become bound beneath the spell of confused identities, and while these unsuspecting mortals wrestle against the forces of nature, a dedicated band of construction workers doggedly continue to rehearse a little-known Greek drama as their way of offering cultural payback to their employers. This exhilarating approach to Shakespeare’s best loved comedy is filled with magic and charm and is guaranteed to offer a perfect midsummer night.
