Hardcore Contemporary Art Space

October 27th, 2007. 7:00 p.m.

Hardcore Art Contemporary. Miami ArtsHardcore Art Contemporary is presenting a special opening night on October 27th at 7:00 p.m. for the exhibitions 99cents Cliches by Nina Dotti, Talamo by Elba Luislugo and the outdoor installation Urban Bread by Sydia Reyes.

99cents Cliches is a sharp review of women and her stereotypes in contemporary society. In a parodic overtone, Nina Dotti recreates a 99cents store exposing artifacts and commodities that relate to women's  super roles nowadays. Superwoman is the axial protagonist in the show: the Babysitter, the Business Woman, the Householder, are seen in short videos in which this uproarious heroine, solves with grace and utterance her overwhelming tasks.

Talamo by Elba Luislugo proposes a harsh reflection on marriage and loss. An arid iron bed's installation with acoustic resonances and voices in off, embodies the hardest moments of marriage, and the inexorable path of the couples dissolution and ending.
