Cuba Nostalgia

From May 19th through May 21st, 2006Cuba Nostalgia, the premier Cuban cultural event outside Cuba, will take place at the Fair Expo Center of FIU from May 19th through May 21st, 2006. The event is a journey back in time for those who remember the island’s glamorous times and for those who never experienced them. Cuban exhibitions, artists, traditional Cuban food and of course lots of music will be the amusements this three days of totally Cuban spirit. Cuba Nostalgia showcases Cuban culture and life through various exhibits featuring the architecture of Havana, cigar label art and Zarzuelas. Many art galleries from Miami will participate in Cuba Nostalgia showcasing their best artists that range from the unforgettable masters Lam, Pelaez and Portocarrero to more contemporary artists such Calzada, Mijares and Bermudez. The best sounds and rhythms of Cuban music will have a strong presence. From the famous mambo to the most sophisticated habanera, Cuban music will fill the air to complete this unique experience for those anxious to recapture the Cuba of yesterday.
