CIRCA Puerto Rico. New Art Fair

From May 25th through May 28th, 2006CIRCA Puerto Rico ’06 is the first international art fair to be held on the Caribbean island and will take place between May 25th through May 28th, 2006. With several exhibitors from Puerto Rico, Latin America, the United States and Europe, and more than ten thousand visitors, CIRCA Puerto Rico ’06 will undoubtedly become the much needed art fair for the region. The event will occupy more than 40,000 sq. ft. of exhibition space in Hall C of the Puerto Rico Convention Center, located at the former naval base in Isla Grande, just outside Old San Juan. According to its organizers, CIRCA Puerto Rico ’06 builds on the conviction that art is not just about the isolated object, but the result of complex cultural and economic synergies involving central and peripheral elements. In addition to commercial galleries, art dealers and publications the art fair will also showcase museums, art schools and workshops, individual artists, art collaboratives and collectors.
