The Hollywood CRA in collaboration with Artspace Projects, Inc. will conduct a major online survey of artists, arts organizations, and creative businesses in South Florida to determine the size and nature of the market for an Artspace affordable live/work/create project planned for Downtown Hollywood.
The eight-week survey period runs through March 28, 2016. Artists, musicians and other creative individuals are encouraged to fill out the survey at HollywoodArtspaceSurvey.org.
Artspace, the nation’s leading developer for the arts, will use the survey to identify the types and number of spaces needed by Downtown Hollywood artists, and the amenities and special features that are of interest to them. The results of the survey will help determine the size of the market for affordable live/work housing, studio and work space of various kinds.
The survey is the second phase of a scope of work that began last year when an Artspace team conducted a preliminary feasibility visit in Downtown Hollywood. The survey results will help identify the project concept and site selection for affordable space for artists to live, work and create. They will also impact specific design and programmatic decisions, such as square footage, parking spaces, types of shared creative spaces required, rents, etc. Artists who take the survey will be among the first to be informed of project developments, including leasing opportunities.
