The artists Cristóbal León and Joaquín Cociña will present a series of stop-motion animation films: Mother.Father; The Temple; The Arc and The Andes. These mysterious films have been described as foundational chapters of a new creed, presenting images that mix the sacred with the profane, the beautiful with the horrific and so on.
The entire film is made using simple materials—found objects, tape, paint and charcoal—to create an enigmatic narrative referencing past colonial empires and futuristic configurations of power and control. Cristóbal León (b. 1980, Santiago de Chile) and Joaquín Cociña (b. 1980, Concepción, Chile) are an artist collaborative based in Santiago de Chile.
