Opening its door August 15, Bossa Gallery is the first local gallery to specialize in Brazilian fine art photography. Located inside the 4141 plaza, across the street from ICA, the gallery presents the works of rising talents, adding to Miami’s evolving art landscape, the current and vibrant production of contemporary art in Brazil.
Join us on Thursday, August 27, from 6pm to 10pm, for an evening of Bossa Nova, pão de queijo and caipirinha to celebrate the gallery opening in true Brazilian style.
Represented artists, Ilana Bessler, Patrícia Gouvêa, Flávia Junqueira, Fabio Knoll, Cássio Vasconcellos, and Fernando Velázquez, were thoughtfully selected to showcase diversity in an array of talents. Each artist has achieved international and national recognition in their home country, having their work featured in museums and collections, participating in numerous projects for cultural and private institutions, and receiving over a hundred awards and honors collectively.
Gallery director, Liliana Beltran comes to Miami with over 10 years of experience in the cultural arena. Relocating from Brazil, she launches Bossa Gallery as a platform to promote Brazilian photographers and expand their career to the international market. With a strong conceptual program base, Liliana will collaborate with guest curators to showcase the artists in inspiring exhibitions presented along with lectures and talks to engage the public in dialogue with the artworks. In the first exhibition scheduled to open in September, local curator Adriana Herrera will apply her extensive knowledge of Latin American Art in a group show featuring Bossa’s artists.
