The Art and Art History Department at the University of Miami presents the 6th Annual Cane Fair featuring artwork of UM students earning their Masters in Fine Arts. Works on display include photography, sculpture, ceramics, painting and more.
Artists in the exhibition are Sean Black, Gerardo Olhovich, Leah Brown, Michelle Roy, Abraham Camayd, Lauren Shapiro, Devin Caserta, Colin Sherrell, Sara Catapano, Vali Steele, Carolyn Kay Chema, Skylor Swann, Cynthia Fleischmann, Jena Thomas, Danièle Gabriel, John Van Beekum, Eddy A. López, Michael Zimmerer and Dennis Loucks.
The MFA program is a 60-credit, three-year program resulting in a terminal degree that both prepares students to enter the professional, studio art world and qualifies them for college teaching. Entrance in to the program is highly competitive with applicants coming from across the country and internationally as well.
The Cane Art Fair is on view at the University of Miami Gallery located inside the Wynwood Building. The will be a closing reception for the artists during January’s Wywnood Art Walk to be held on Saturday, January 11th from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. Other viewing times can be arranged by appointment.
